Fly’s guide to Dot To Dot Nottingham

Fly's guide to Dot To Dot Nottingham

Dot to Dot Festival is just around the corner. After a Saturday filled with music in Bristol, it will be Nottingham’s turn to showcase its local talent and some of the best new bands around.

Dot to Dot festival Hosted by DHP family promoters and Super Bock is an annual city music festival in Bristol and Nottingham. Local grass rout venues welcome the festivalgoers with many stages on offer. In Nottingham, the main venues include Rock City, Rescue Rooms, Bodega and The Angel.

At Fly live we play an array of music throughout the day and on specialist shows. So, here are some of the acts you can’t miss on Sunday:

Alfie Templeman – Rock City 8.15 pm

With the release of his debut full-length album ‘Mellow Moon’, out today (May 27th), the 19-year-old from Bedford has made a mark on the landscape of pop over the past 4 years. Climbing up the ranks from Bodega to Rescue Rooms and now performing one of the headline slots at Rock City, Alfie and the band know how to put on a show to any audience size, filling the rooms with fantasy-filled indie dream hits.

Baby Queen – The Level 8.45 pm

Baby queen is becoming the voice of a generation, especially with her collaboration with the Netflix series Heart Stopper, creating the track ‘Colours of you’ for the soundtrack. Her songs hit the feelings felt by gen Z in such a poignant way and we can’t wait to see her on Sunday.

Jock Strap – The Level 5.15 pm

These guys caught our attention in 2020 on our Fly Discover show. Jockstrap holds such an interesting and sophisticated sound that transcends thoughts all of their tracks, even though each track feels like a capsule story. Jockstraps are a band to see if you’re feeling like hearing something experimental and original.

Piri and Tommy – Rescue Rooms 2.30 pm

TikTok sensations Piri and Tommy Villiers are the ones to watch. They are reimaging dance music in a way that’s fresh and exciting to those who may not originally be into Drum and Bass.

Cucamaras – Rock City 1.45 pm

Nottingham’s very own post-punk 4 piece have just released their debut EP ‘Soft Soap’ today and what better way to celebrate than play the biggest stage at Dot To Dot Festival, Rock City. Cucamaras have been featured on Fly Live’s local spotlight playlist as well as the new music discovery show, Fly Discover.
