🎄 The Return of the Festive Magic: Nottingham Winter Wonderland 2025
The City Centre is buzzing with festive anticipation! Nottingham’s much-loved Christmas market has made its grand return – and bursting with holiday cheer. Old Market Square once again sheds its usual grey tones and has sparkled into a true winter wonderland.
✨What to Expect
Right in the heart of Nottingham, Old Market Square will host the Winter Wonderland Christmas Market from 12 November to 31 December 2025 (closed on Christmas Day). The market is open 10am to 6pm (Sunday–Thursday) and 10am to 8pm (Friday–Saturday). Here is what to expect: 60+ log cabin-style stalls offering crafts, gifts & street food. The Sky Skate ice path has returned wrapping above the market rooftops offering scenic views of Nottingham from above where you can glide and soak in the twinkling lights. The famous Ice Bar has also made a comeback with a new theme for 2025 (even the glasses are made from ice). Alternatively chill-out in the ski-lodge style bar “Sur La Piste” for those looking to have a cheeky drink!
📌Tips & Student-Friendly Hacks
- Go earlier in the day to avoid heavier crowds and get better access to attractions.
- Use public transport/tram or walk!
- Free entry means you can browse the stalls without spending big – if budget’s tight you might skip rides and just soak up the immaculate vibes.
- If you’re at the height of exam seasons as deadlines start to loom and need a breather, it’s a nice place to hang out with friends, have a mulled drink (or overpriced hot chocolate) and a walk.
- Keep an eye on weather: it’s outdoors so dress warm ❄️
