Gold for Fly Live at the SRAs
Gold for Fly Live at the SRAs
It was a fantastic night for Fly Live at the 30th Anniversary of the Student Radio Awards! Fly Live was nominated for three awards this year: Best Multi – Platform Initiative for our project #TrentConsent, Best Station Sound and Harry Briggs for Best Presenter.
Fly Live achieved Gold for Best Multi – Platform Initiative and Silver for Best Station Sound and Best Presenter.
After what had been such a challenging year for Fly Live, the combination of lockdowns paired with restricted access to our studio made creating content was difficult.
We started #TrentConsent after the death of Sarah Everard as well as the statistic was released that showed that 97% of women had been sexually harassed. #TrentConsent aimed to raise education about what consent, sexual harassment and sexual assault actually are and to encourage people to not be bystander in these situations. At this time bars and pubs were preparing to reopen and so with the lifting of restrictions we felt this was an important message to spread.
Jack Thrubbon has worked so hard over the past academic year it was amazing to see his work get the recognition he deserves with a Silver for Best Station Sound.
Since joining Fly Live Harry Briggs has always been a very confident presenter, with his skills developing further throughout the years so it was great to see him receive Silver for Best Presenter.
We can only aspire for more awards next year!
